Carter Cutlery handcrafts high performance cutlery using time-honored, traditional Japanese bladesmithing techniques. Carter Cutlery operated from 1997-2005 at Tabaruzaka Park in Kumamoto, Japan, at which point Murray packed everything up into a 40’ container and fulfilled a lifelong personal dream to become a United States citizen.
The Master Smith Series of knives are made professionally by Murry Carter himself and only his best work as well. He maintain strong ties and roots in Japan, faithfully visiting Sensei Sakemoto and source all of his essential materials from there as well. Which gives the consumer the most genuine Japanese knives out there.
This knife is a Master Smith Gyoto 8.54". A Gyoto is another word for "Chef's knife" in the Japanese culture and is very general purpose.
