Back in 1999, Benchmade made a huge splash in the knife industry by releasing the original 710 model with AXIS lock technology. It was an absolute game-changer, and it was all thanks to the collaborative efforts of Benchmade and the legendary custom knifemakers, Bill McHenry and Jason Williams. These guys were known for their incredible watchmaking skills, and they brought their A-game to this project.
The new 710FE-2401 model is a nod to their amazing craftsmanship and celebrates the 25th anniversary of the AXIS lock technology. It has an awesome drop-point recurved blade made of durable CPM-Magnacut steel with an FDE PVD finish and black thumb studs. The handle is lightweight aluminum with a sleek black anodized finish, and the backspacer and pivot ring are milled with FDE PVD. This limited anniversary variant is inspired by the original designers, McHenry and Williams, and it's definitely something to get excited about!
