My first CRK Sebenza 😬

I’ve had a CRK Mnandi for many years, but started collecting more seriously recently and decided I needed a Sebenza (or two 🤣) to add to my collection. This Large Sebenza 31was pretty smooth (but stiff) out of the box, however after a week or so of break-in, it was starting to feel a little “notchy” and not the “hydraulic” smooth operation folks talk about. I dis-assembled the knife, cleaned the pivot and washers, re-greased with the CRK supplied grease and the smooth, silky, “hydraulic” operation has returned (minus the “out of the box” stiffness). I guess for a knife that is expected to last a lifetime, a little break-in, during the initial stages of ownership is understandable. Here’s a somewhat weird comparison for folks, I purchased a Shirogorov at the same time and although they have totally different “actions”, they are very similar in their feeling of being manufactured to very fine tolerances, with significant attention to detail. Highly recommend the Sebenza 31 and Northwest Knives who were super responsive in fulfilling my order (shipped same day, with prompt shipping info etc). Thx folks, as you get more CRK’s, I’ll definitely be placing more orders with you guys.
