The Brakimo (pronounced BRAH-key-moe) is a knife designed by Joe Flowers to serve as either a backup to a machete or a primary camp knife. Joe runs a survival school called Bushcraft Global, which takes individuals of all skill levels into the Amazon jungle to teach them survival skills. These skills are applicable not just to jungle environments but also cultivate a mindset beneficial in any setting. He aimed to create a flagship knife for his company, and the Brakimo was developed to meet that need.

This knife features a relatively wide blade profile combined with TOPS' modified Scandi grind, which provides excellent cutting and splitting capabilities. The tip narrows significantly, making it useful for drilling holes for bow-drill fires, blowgun mouthpieces, traps, and more. Its simple design makes it versatile for various applications. Constructed from 1095 high carbon steel, the edge is easy to maintain while in the field. Testing conducted during the 2015 Bushcraft Global trip showed that keeping the knife dry minimized rust issues.

The name "Brakimo" is derived from the Matis language, which is unwritten as far as we know. The Matis tribe, located in Brazil, was uncontacted by the outside world until 1975-1976. Their unique way of life would challenge the survival skills of any expert.
