Whether it’s for survival, the great outdoors, or summer projects, the military inspired 0006 is the answer. Though it pays homage to the original ZT-9 with a steel guard, this full-tang beast is not a bayonet.

Instead, this versatile ZT fits snugly in a durable Kydex sheath for travel. Named after its 6-inch blade, the 0006 uses CPM 3V, a tough tool steel that resists edge chipping during the hardest work tasks. While this non-stainless steel wasn’t designed for corrosion resistance, ZT added a clear Cerakote coating for greater durability. It’s a thick blade at 3/16 inches, but still plenty functional. The rounded profile fills the hand without being too big, and an olive G10 handle offers comfortable grip. Choke up on the aggressive jimping with or without gloves for greater control.

When ZT makes a fixed blade, there’s nothing else like it. The 0006 is no exception.

A Really Nice Knife.

I have always liked my Kershaw pocket knives. Five years a go I splurged on a zero tolerance folder (Sinkevich 0450). I carried that knife with me all the time and didn't feel dressed without it. I purchased several different brands of fixed blade knives (in the $150-$200 range) to pack in my bug-out bag and use for bush-craft (splitting wood, cutting notches, rope etc...). I was never quite satisfied with them. That brings me to the model 0006. My past experience with Kershaw and Zero Tolerance played a significant roll in my decision to spend the extra cash on this knife. I went to my favorite knife store (Northwest knives - Boise) and browsed though the multitude of fixed blade knives they had in stock, but always came back to the 0006. I have to tell you, I trust this knife to do everything I need a knife to do. It came with a wicked sharp edge and nice sheath. It feels good in the hands and has an unexpected heft to it for a knife of this size. It is pricey, but if you are the "no compromise" type and can afford it, don't hesitate. You won't be sorry.
