Pro Tech is proud to call Mike “Whiskers” and Denise Allen friends of theirs for over 20 years. It’s great that all these many years later they are able to offer this innovative Pro-Tech Whiskers collaboration knife based on Mike’s fantastic handle release mechanism. Upon first glance there is nothing about the BR-1 to make you suspect it’s an automatic knife (no button of course). The back section of the handle slides up – this very deliberate movement is what fires the blade open and also unlocks it from the open position.
This Whiskers has black smooth aluminum handle, black hardware & clip, and black finished 154CM Blade.
Please check your local laws regarding the purchase and carrying of automatic knives.

View full detailsI'm a huge Pro Tech fan that came from California so I was limited to having the Runt and other California legal automatic knives, so when I came into the store to check out their inventory this was one of the first knives Taq had shown me. I loved how he lit up just showing me this knife and it's "Magic" hidden release. I immediately fell in love with it. I bought one online and was able to pick it up in store. I loved how they were super informative and made sure I understood what kind of knife it was and they also made sure I knew how to deploy this knife properly before handing it over. I couldn't wait to start using it and learning the multiple ways to deploy it with one hand. I have mastered the magic release now because I spent the next day getting more familiar with it (great fidget knife like the Pro Tech Malibu). This knife is sharp as hell right out of the box. It is also the reason I will keep coming back to Northwest Knives. 10/10 would recommend them to anyone who is a knife enthusiast.
