The Sage 5 Lightweight is the most popular member of our Sage Series of folding knives, and it effectively showcases the exceptional properties of high-performance blade steels. In this spirit, the Sage 5 Lightweight Salt features a blade made from CPM MagnaCut—a revolutionary particle metallurgy steel known for its outstanding balance of edge retention, toughness, and extreme corrosion resistance, which is essential for our Salt Series knives. The blade is full-flat ground and has a PlainEdge design. It is supported by a high-strength Compression Lock® mechanism housed within a lightweight, open-backed handle made from fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN). The handle is molded in a high-visibility yellow color and features a BiDirectional Texture™ pattern for a secure, non-slip grip. It also includes a reversible deep-pocket wire clip. As with all Salt Series folding knives, the clip, liners, and all handle hardware are made from marine-grade materials.
