One successful collaboration was with Bill McHenry and Jason Williams, famous custom knifemakers with roots in watchmaking. They call their work "art with an edge." McHenry and Williams also developed Benchmade's AXIS lock technology, featured in the first 710 knife back in 1999.
To mark the 25th anniversary of the AXIS lock, Benchmade introduces the 710FE-24. This knife keeps the large frame and cutting power of the original but with upgraded features. The 710FE-24 has a cool drop-point, recurve blade made of tough CPM-S90V steel with an FDE PVD finish, and a lightweight 6061-T6 Aluminum handle with a gray anodized finish. It's a special variant that pays tribute to the 25th anniversary of the AXIS lock technology, honoring its original designers McHenry and Williams.
